Balasore Institute of Technical Studies (BITS) under the aegis of Sikhya O Pragati Charitable Trust was established in the year 2007 to build professionals in the field of technical, management and social works, education. Nirmal Chandra Dhal, the promoter of the institute left a lucrative banking job to start the institute for the noble cause of nation building with quality manpower. The institute had a humble beginning with a BBA course in the year 2007 and later Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor in Library Science (B. Lib) and Bachelor in Social Work (BSW) were added in due course, it has its own campus in the outskirt of Balasore town in a serene locality. During last decade due to liberal Policy, huge number of private educational institute established in Odisha as well as India, Both at Rural and urban area. Many of them failed to provide the quality professional course at an affordable course fees suitable to the budget of student particularly from lower and middle income group.
